Priorities

Washington County deserves a judge who will fight with honor and integrity for the safety of the community and for justice for everyone.

01.

Public Safety

Too often our justice system fails to keep our communities safe by offering half-measures and empty promises rather than the real solutions needed to prevent violence and other crime.

Every resident of Washington County deserves to feel safe and to be confident their justice system will do more than just check boxes and cycle people through the system.

As Judge, KC LeDell will put in the work to make sure that cases that come before him are resolved in ways that create lasting safety in the community.

02.

Mental Health

Our mental health system has failed our most vulnerable neighbors, and we see the results of that failure spilling out into our streets every day, affecting the quality of life of the entire community.

KC LeDell has spent his entire career building expertise in Oregon’s behavioral health systems, as an advocate pushing for more community mental health services and to hold the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon State Hospital accountable for their failures.

As Judge, he will work with community partners to build a system that gets people with mental illness off of the streets and connected with the help they need to thrive.

03.

Fair and Just Courtrooms

Every Washington County resident who walks through the courthouse should expect to be treated with fairness, respect, and compassion by our elected public servants.

No one should feel excluded from full access to our justice system based on their race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender expression, or immigration status, and no one looking for justice should have to live in fear of being demeaned, berated, or put in danger by the people given the most sacred trust in the legal system.

As Judge, KC LeDell will bring a community service mentality to the role and hold himself to the highest ethical and professional standards.

Washington County Judicial seats do not belong to the judges, they belong to the people of Washington County, and those that the people of Washington County entrust them with should spend every moment of every day working to serve those people to the fullest.
